Born on March 8 1978 in Beirut, Lebanon, Oussamah Ghandour dedicates his art to the deconstruction of self and reconstruction of freedom. His liberal studies with a focus on visual arts in York University in Toronto coupled with a degree in graphic design and communication studies at the Academy of Design led him head on into the creative world helping him find his dual vocation as an artist and designer. Traveling is his second nature, inspiring connection, desire, and understanding. Oussamah has lived all over – Riyadh, Doha, Nice, Toronto, Beirut, Dubai until eventually settling in Brooklyn, NYC. He uses his free imagination, love and loss, cross culture,

ethnic urban roots and chaotic energy as inspiration for his style

across mediums.

Entering Oussamah’s creative universe is a pure sensorial experience; his work evokes memories, situations and provides connections about himself and his experiences, mirroring a universal human truth. Translating his passion to a painting obsession, his paintings tell rich stories in every abstract detail; his brush strokes, textures and paint drops reveal deep-layered emotions. Almost like each painting has a soundtrack. Every piece is to be viewed from afar and zooming on details, flipped and seen from every angle. His designs are inspired from the street and whether he is creating a logo or collaging a print his aesthetics are unique. A pure creative soul, Oussamah is rarely seen without his sketchbook; he documents life in his

own particular way.

Oussamah’s work has been exhibited in multiple shows in NYC and Beirut. Including white box Art Centre, Art Love New York, Bushwick open studios, Lebanese Consulate art events, Christies.  He currently lives and works between Brooklyn, NYC and Beirut, Lebanon.
